crinny dilemmas

I have mentioned before how badly I want to dye my crinny and I've been debating on what color to do. I've considered making it my "something blue" but I REALLY want to do pink...so I think pink is going to win out. But what shade? Fushia? Baby pink? Vintage-y pink to go with the fall theme?

So many choices...I suppose finding my shoes will decide this for me...

I just cant WAIT to take some super amazing pictures with it!! Ahh!

cake?

So the next big thing on the agenda is finding a cake person. We need to set up tastings, preferrably all during on weekend, so we only have to make one trip down to Springfield. So far it's been pretty difficult, I can find only a few down there, and the most popular ones I'm not a huge fan of their designs. The one I liked was very overpriced, so now I'm searching the wonderful internet hoping that one jumps out at me that I cant seem to find.

We have NO idea what type of cake we want. I keep going back and forth between traditional and pretty to unique and modern- do we want a round 3-layer? Or a funky off-center deal? I dont know. I do know that we aren't having a huge cake...we are really wanting to do a dessert bar, one to save us a bit of $$, but also because well, not everyone likes cake. Of course we want to do the typical "take our picture while we smash cake on each other", but aside from that and saving the top tier for our anniversary, we dont want to spend hundreds on a cake.

So that is my mission for this week...email cake people and set up tastings.

honeymoon

Ahh the funnest part of planning the wedding is planning the honeymoon. So many options of places to go, getting this opportunity to take this extravagant vacation- ahh!

So alot of people dont realize this, but Adam and I havent actually ever been on a vacation together in the entire time that we've been together. Most couples have taken some sort of vacation, whether it be camping or something elaborate, but the two of us have went nowhere. Absolutely no where. Any and all "vacations" that the two of us have taken together have included family or other people...the trip to California- my entire family. We didnt get any time to the two of us, and spent the week walking my 7 year old sister around Disney Land.

Needless to say, we are pretty excited to be getting the opportunity to take a vacation just the two of us. Our dream vacation is to take a trip to Europe...Italy and Greece most specifically. Ah, that would be incredible. We've looked up the Mediterranean cruises that leave around that time and there is one that we found that we like...we would have enough money for the cruise, flights are doable if they drop in price a bit. Our only problem will be the time off work. Unfortunately, Adam doesn't get paid vacation until next year, and me being part time, I dont get any and the weddings dont really have vacations. So we are *hoping* that we can save up enough to do this, though it may be much closer to the actual date before we know for sure, since all of the wedding things need to be paid for first.

finally!

Ahhh!!!!! So my mom went to see the possible reception site and she says that it's pretty much perfect. Granted I haven't seen it, but the price is EXCELLENT (honestly, one of those 'way to good to be true' moments) and it fits exactly the amount we need. And the even better thing? It INCLUDES catering, AND a DJ! At this point I'm not being super picky about the DJ. I'm planning on giving whoever it is a list of songs we want played for sure, quite a few of them actually, so they really need very few to fill in.

So my mom says to book this place. I trust her, we have pretty similar taste and she seems to get and understand the sort of "look" Adam and I are going for. I showed the pictures to Adam and he freaked out- it was literally the most excited I have seen him about wedding plans! He says it's great- so we are sending in the deposit. I just need this all finalized and know that we have a place.

About the place! It's called the Tonic Ultra Lounge (yes people, it's a bar.) and by the looks of it, it looks incredible. It has lounge/couch type areas to chill out, a dance floor, and a bar that looks like it stepped out of old Rome (yeah, you heard me.). It's awesome, and the other great thing is aside from the tables, very little decorations will be needed since the place is already pretty decorated. The only drawback is that with the tables they have we wont be able to do the traditional round tables, people will have to sit in the tables that they have, which are typical to a restaurant, but if that is the only drawback t the place I'll be happy. As long as we can find some place to put the head table, I'm good!

Ahhhh I'm just so excited!! Once we mail this in, that means that we have the ceremony and reception hall BOOKED!!! YAY!!!

Me

I'm a newlywed with a love for the little things in life- sipping a cappuccino at a local coffee shop in the sunshine, art that seems to make no sense, the smile my husband gets sometimes when I catch him watching me, the cool breeze in the fall when the leaves are changing, my dog when she has somehow manages to wedge herself under my hand and I find myself petting her unknowingly, the smell of freshly cut grass, the sounds of the ocean, taking photos of instances you can never get back. I feel too much about things but may not always say it. I adore my mother. You'll find I take a lot of pictures. La vita รจ bella.
