Day Trip- DC!

One of our days in Baltimore we decided to take a day trip to Washington DC. It was only about 30 minutes or so away and Adam had never been there- plus, there is alot to do there that is free, haha, so we happily paid the $7 apiece to take the train to DC.

DC was so pretty in the fall- when I had went before it was in the middle of July, so of course it was ridiculously hot and filled with tons and tons of people. Well, since it was now the end of October, the crowds were thinner and the trees were BEAUTIFUL, and the weather, although overcast, was really nice that day.

Adam really wanted to hit up the Smithsonian Museums, but because of time (and the fact that he wanted to do, well, everything else in the town as well) he had to limit it to one of the museums and his number one choice was the Air & Space Museum. I was excited- this was the one I wanted to go to before but didnt get to. So we went in and learned about the planets and the astronauts, Adam had fun looking at the planes. Ha.

After the museum we started walking towards the Capitol. We didnt walk all the way, but we got pretty close and took the obligatory pictures, and then my camera fell on the ground. Luckily it wasnt our pro one, but it was still the only camera that we had brought to DC, and this was early on in the day. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed, and although I took pictures with my cell, the pictures definitely lack in quality.

Anywho, we walked down past the Washington and to the Lincoln and Adam got to see all of the major tourist-y spots. I wanted him to get to see the White House, but Adam really hates walking, and, well, DC involves alot of walking, so he was pretty tired and we still had to make the relatively long walk back to the subway. So we ended up just walking back to the subway and finally made our way back to Baltimore.

DC is definitely one of my favorite cities- I just love the atmosphere there and getting to just look around you and see all of these historical landmarks that you learned about in school. The city itself just seems like a really nice and easy city to live in. Adam and I both agreed that we liked it better than Baltimore- it just seemed more friendly.

Me

I'm a newlywed with a love for the little things in life- sipping a cappuccino at a local coffee shop in the sunshine, art that seems to make no sense, the smile my husband gets sometimes when I catch him watching me, the cool breeze in the fall when the leaves are changing, my dog when she has somehow manages to wedge herself under my hand and I find myself petting her unknowingly, the smell of freshly cut grass, the sounds of the ocean, taking photos of instances you can never get back. I feel too much about things but may not always say it. I adore my mother. You'll find I take a lot of pictures. La vita รจ bella.
